Seamstress / Sample maker

Responsabilities :

• Production of the first garment samples from technical sheets / drawings.
• Production of small lots of garment and accessories.
• Doing all the alterations neccessary in the production lots coming back from the contractors.
• Help the assistant designer to find new, more effecient ways, to produce a garment.
• Sample cutting (occasionnal)

Expected profile :

• Professional high school diploma expected.
• Minimum of 4 years of experience in the industry.
• Must know how to use different machines : overlock, plain, coverstich, blindstich…
• Must be able to work under pressure.
• Must be able to respect tight deadlines.
• Must be meticulous and rigorous.

The ideal candidate will be organized, have strong problem solving ability and leadership.

Assistant designer and intern

Principal responsibilities:

• Pattern making, sample creation for some styles: must have the technical training.
• Helps with the design of the clothing line, helps to manage the production.
• To be able to produce detailed and precise specifications from drawings or from original samples in order to create the prototypes.
• Must prepare tables detailing trends.
• Organize runways for the fashion week, accessorize etc…

Profile sought:

• Knowledge of patterns.
• Knowledge of the fashion sketching on computer.
• Meticulousness and energetic.
• Good writing skills in English.
• Detail oriented person that is well organized.
• Excellent fashion sense and knowledge of the product.
• Autonomy and versatility.
• A diploma in fashion design (DEC) a benefit.
• Good knowledge of the basic computer programs: Windows, Excel, Word.
• Excellent ability to work in a team.
• Good knowledge of the software Illustrator, Photoshop.
